Provost’s Honors Symposium is an event on the last day of CERCA (student research week at UWEC). This year I nominated two presentations to the symposium and my students presented on Friday. I also had two other presentations that I was listed as a co-mentor, which the students presented in another room at the same time! I wish I could attend all presentations but unfortunately they all took place simultaneously.
This is the picture that I took with my students after they were done before we went to the symposium reception (of course, they provided some food!).

Reception

With Eric Jamelske, co-author on the fruit and vegetable project.

The project that I co-supervise with Dr. Eric Jamelske on fresh fruit and vegetable program was selected to present at the 13th Annual Posters in the Rotunda. This is the video of students’ interview with WisEye.
Every year UWEC has a student research event called Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity (CERCA). It is a week-long event where students present their research projects and accomplishments. I have had students presenting at CERCA since the first year I got to UWEC. To me, this is a great event the students get to talk about research projects that they are involved in and their experience in doing research with faculty mentors.

Gracia Clark participated in the 2016 Quick Pitch Competition at the university. In this competition, students have 3 minutes to pitch their research project to the judges. They have to explain/summarize their project in layman’s language and talk about their findings and implications.
