This project had been on my mind for a couple of years. Originally, I wanted to start this trip before the pandemic but then the pandemic hit the world and this trip was put on hold. Now that we are free (and somewhat safe) to travel again, I am leading the study abroad trip to Thailand in May 2023. In collaboration with Walailak University, the students will learn about sustainable tourism business and cultural experience in Thailand. They will also work with local enterprises to help them with their business plan. I hope this will be a great experience for UA students.
This summer I was invited by Walailak University to give a talk about research and research productivity. We had a discussion about research and how one can manage research projects and get the projects published in international, high-quality journals.
I’m looking forward to future collaborations with Walailak University School of Management on research and student experience.
I concluded the 2021-2022 academic year with the Dean’s Research Excellence Award. This award is given to a faculty member to recognize their research productivity (both quality and quantity) in the past 2 years. I’m very honored to receive this award.

On April 15, I was invited to participate in a live panel discussion hosted by Tell Me Your Story in collaboration with the University of Victoria. The topic was about superstitious beliefs and how the beliefs shape social customs. I had a great time discussing my research with other experts in the area.
