2016 CERCA – Poster presentations

Every year UWEC has a student research event called Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity (CERCA). It is a week-long event where students present their research projects and accomplishments. I have had students presenting at CERCA since the first year I got to UWEC. To me, this is a great event the students get to talk about research projects that they are involved in and their experience in doing research with faculty mentors.

Students presenting research at ‘Posters in the Rotunda’

The project on fresh fruit and vegetable consumption in children that my co-author and I have been working with students was selected to present a poster at the annual ‘Posters in the Rotunda’ event.

“Eleven UW-Eau Claire students were selected by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to present posters at the event. Each school is allowed only six posters, so research projects are chosen from a variety of disciplines with topics that might be of interest to legislators.”

“Posters in the Rotunda is just one of a myriad of venues UW-Eau Claire takes advantage of in order to provide research experiences for their students. The event also allows local leaders to learn about the amazing contributions UW-Eau Claire students are making to our state and society as a whole.”

One of my promotion classes this semester is working with a client in Asheville, NC on a promotional campaign to help promoting/introducing their new product line in the US.

This is the first time that we have a distant client and thank to the technology and IT department, the conference call went smoothly. I can’t wait to see the students’ ideas!!
